What ever you need - I do live music, rallies and speeches, conference sound, galas and festivals, sports events, Highland games, dog shows, country fairs, faith meetings and all the rest. For outdoor events, I can run systems off generators, or use custom made battery powered equipment. The larger systems need 32A mains supply (often available from a field generator). My 3.5kW generators will power the small to medium systems. I can also supply walkie-talkie communications. Speakers go on
gantry towers that rise to 5m.I do not provide disco DJ services, nor big screens or stages - but if you want those things, I can collaborate with those that do.

Back in 1979, I started a small company hiring outdoor sound systems in my local neighbourhood; just a hobby, although my interest developed until I gained an MSc in acoustics (1985). But my career turned more academic and I eventually ended up as a university teacher in theoretical biology (via medical physics, cancer research and epidemiology). All my kit ended up in garages and attics far from me and I rather forgot about sound systems.
But when some of the old equipment turned up in my Mum’s attic, the interest was rekindled and I started again, helping events by offering ‘to do the sound’. Over the past few years, I have built up the kit to the level of a small professional hire inventory. I am officially retired from university work now (though I’m still active in research) and I spend quite a lot of time building and maintaining amplifier boxes, cables and the like. I am careful what I buy - all of it is top quality professional kit, selected to work together to make really good sound for small to medium sized events.I enjoy every aspect of it (and lugging the heavy boxes certainly provides a work out). I like to collaborate with event organisers in planning the sound to get everything exactly right and cover all the possible contingencies before the event. I also like to collaborate with musicians on mixing and getting just what they want from the sound. Of course I always enjoy the appreciation of crowds as well - whether it is cheering at a concert, or in support of an inspiring speech at a rally, or just being caught up in the excitement of a race as the commentator’s voice rises in pitch. The feeling one gets from sliding the faders to release an awe-inspiring sound is really quite addictive.Actually, if you want to try that yourself, I am very happy to invite enthusiastic volunteers into the action (I am not in a position to formally employ people, but there would be appropriate rewards). If that interests you, drop me a line in the contact form. Thanks,
Keith.
